When I first started to feel into the concept of self containment, I admit that I went to the core of self to search for the dynamics to write about. Yet a voice kept telling me to go deeper, to seek the ground. I remembered hearing my mentor’s voice in healing school saying “everything starts at the root.” The roots of self containment come from the foundation of our body in our being, our root chakra, our ground. From the ground all of our issues trickle up into less solid manifestations. The ground creates the foundation for the core, the heart, and the soul to root into our bodies and our lives. The issues that we have around trust, boundaries, sense of self, and connection are all rooted in our relationship to…our root!
