How to be Present in Relationship and Create a Potential for Healing
A relationship needs a container to move through recurring problems. Without consensual and conscious containing, fights and conversations stay in familiar patterns. Intimacy is hard to establish. We act and react within the known in a way that fuels a lack of aliveness and habituates the problems that are so easy to find over time in relationship. For a relationship to go well, both partners need to respect the other's need for a deeper space of presence. The container is a basic need that many of us live our life never experiencing. It is not the same as being seen, heard, accepted, or loved for who we are. It is a space where we can feel free to express ourself and feel ourself as we are.
