Exploring How Middle Ground Creates the Softening Needed to Be Present
Compassion towards self and others seems to consistently to be one of the biggest blindspots to personal growth. It is too easy to fall into patterns that forget about compassion. I am often shocked by this oversight when I work with people. How is it that I somehow miss or inadequately convey how important compassion is to the process of becoming? How is it that relationships and friendships are expected to blossom and age without the presence of compassion? If we cannot hold ourselves and others in compassion, we are feeding the part of us that feels unlovable. This is the part of us that believes we have to be separate or change in order to be completely accepted. By consistently working on our personal growth without the lens of compassion, we are hurting ourselves. Building the capacity to love is one of the key reasons we are on this planet. Why is it so easy to avoid compassion?
