Breath Meditation: A Tool to Harness The Mind
And...what is the difference between breath work and breath meditation?
Have you ever thought about the purpose of breathing? Like why you actually do it? Is it simply to survive? Do you have any interest in learning how to use breath to thrive? Does breath drive you or do you drive breath? Is breathing something you notice in its dynamic changes? How often do you ask yourself if your breath can be different than what it wants to be? Can you let breath actually change your life?

Breath is an instinctual miracle that takes place in your body all day long, every day of your life.
Breath is the single greatest element you have for not simply living, but thriving.
You can use breath and take it for granted.
OR.
You can choose to use breath to actively engage differently with your life.
Breath is the simplest tool you have at your disposal to shift your reactions, your thoughts, your emotional charges, and your trauma. Breath can be used to regulate hormones, to shift nervous system responses, to clear trauma, to stop repetitve (and totally unhelpful) thought cycles, to engage in the present moment. Breath Breath is simply waiting for you to use it, to be aware of it, and to harness it. The choice is so simple…isn’t it?
Breathe more. Breathe different. Befriend the breath. Become the breath.
So often people want to face their problems with their brain. This same brain that is so busy thinking about how to resolve itself while keeping itself necessary. The brain is coming from a belief that there is something wrong with you. It is the source point of your limiting beliefs. It creates your problems because what it knows is not what you need.
The breath is oriented completely around everything being right with you. This is why it is such an amazing teacher and crucible for change. You may instinctually want to turn to what you lack as a way to create what you want. When you turn to the breath, you are orienting toward what is open, available, and present. The breath is all and more, known and unknown, friend and instigator. It is a gift waiting to be opened and explored.
Today I have a breath meditation for you that is used to transform fear in an embodied way without getting triggered by fear as an emotion. The meditation can be used to remove blocks of stagnant fear inside your body so that you can feel your core more clearly. When fear can be felt as an embodied sensation, you are teaching yourself how to be in positive alignment with your nervous system.
I also have included for you a discussion on differentiating what you consider breath work and what you consider breath meditation. Both are valuable tools for transformation.
Breath work is used to shift your relationship to your present moment in the midst of life with all of its busyness, stress, decision making, reactions, and work.
Breath work helps you differention between reaction and self.
Breath work allows you to make a choice in the moment to come out of pattern and into change.
AND
Breath meditation creates cellular memory.
Breath meditation teaches you to engage in alternate states of being through different methods of breathing.
Breath meditation teaches you how to get out of your head and into your body.
Breath meditation creates a focal point for your mind so that you can breathe and notice sensation.
Both breath work and breath meditation are essential for transformation, for creating the you that you want to be and living the life that you want to have.
Ok. So here goes. I hope you enjoy this meditation. The side effect of this meditation when done to completion is a complete let go and relaxation of tension and a return to the self.
