Addressing the Part of Us That Resists Change
Learning why we need to accept negativity in order to foster change
I want to talk to the part of you that does not want change, resists change, and will do anything it can to sabotage change. This part of you might be felt as collapse, general frumpiness or frustration, resistance, physical pain, and/or shut down.If you actually start to sink into this, you are more likely to hit even greater resistance and deeper negativity. Why? Because a part of you wants to feel bad.
I am calling this place stasis, but it can also be felt as a bind. The paradox that lives inside us all when we are caught between wanting more and needing things to stay the same. For those of us who seek change, we might notice that we are willing to talk the paradox to death but the second anyone, including ourselves, gets close to addressing the actual paradox and change it, emotions arise and shut down occurs.
